Bahen Centre Concept

KMDI, pressed for space and infrastructure within its current allotment at the Bahen Centre building, was working on a proposal to infill a large chamber with two additional floors totaling 3000sqft. The grant proposal, for 5.6 million CAD, asked for a large usability lab, various media production spaces, and large desking area.
The OFID was contracted to develop, according to the brief: "the space, architectural, equipment, software, and usage model aspects of this concept." Through detailed analysis and rapid iteration, OFID developed a comprehensive concept for the space with complete with specifications for equipment and furniture. Ultimately, we wrote a portion of the grant proposal as well. The goal was to win the grant, rather than present the final layout, etc.
Two years later, the centre is currently under construction.
